Liverpool open talks for shock £50 million signing as Yankuba Minteh deal collapses
Liverpool have began discussions for a shock £50 million signing after a move for Brighton star Yankuba Minteh did not progress.
The Reds, who have tried to sign Bradley Barcola all summer, pushed to sign Minteh even with the Gambian being out injured for around three months due to ankle surgery.
However, they called the deal off as they were not willing to meet Brighton's valuation.
But with a great need to sign a new wide player, Fabrizio Romano dropped the bombshell that Liverpool are now in talks to sign Ismaila Sarr from Crystal Palace.

Sarr has been courted by Turkish giants Galatasaray, who had two bids rejected by Palace.
In an exclusive report, Romano reported that Liverpool have sent a proposal for £50 million and that the Senegal international is keen on the move.
Sarr, who has tore Liverpool apart on more than occasion, was left out of Palace's squad for the defeat to Everton at the weekend amid transfer speculation with Galatasaray.
New manager Pierre Sage spoke about Sarr's omission after the game and claimed that he was left out because he was not fully fit.
“It’s normal (the panic from fans) because two days ago, I said he will play. Yesterday, we made a medical point with the doctor of the club, the player and me. We have chosen that he cannot play because for the moment he’s not really 100%. That’s why we didn’t want to take a risk.”
Galatasaray were reportedly only willing to pay £34 million for Sarr but Liverpool have offered a fee closer to what Palace are demanding.

Liverpool want Barcola but face paying a whopping £145 million fee for the Frenchman - which the club are not willing to cough up so far.
A move for Minteh looked more likely and Liverpool tabled two bids, the highest of which was £60 million.
However, a report from talkSPORT claims that Brighton's asking price is £80 million and that has putt off the six-time European champions.
