Liverpool are reported to have an agreement for a stunning free transfer next summer.

Arne Slot only made one significant signing during his first transfer window at the helm, with Federico Chiesa joining from Juventus for a fee of £10 million.

The Reds were desperate to bring in Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad after his impressive showing in Spain's Euro 2024 triumph but the midfielder wanted to stay put.

However, Liverpool are planning ahead for next summer it seems - with suggestions that they may well have one deal in the pipeline.

Trent Alexander-Arnold's Liverpool situation still needs to be resolve and he is due to be out of contract at the end of the season.

The England international continues to be heavily linked to Real Madrid following on from Dani Carvajal's ACL injury.

But Liverpool reportedly have a deal for a new right-back lined up, with Todo Fichajes saying Netherlands and Inter Milan defender Denzel Dumfries is their prefered option.

Dumfries is also set to be a free agent at the end of the season having yet to agree an extension to his stay with the Nerazzurri.

In fact, Inter are said to be fearful that the 29-year-old has no intentions of putting pen to paper and think he has a deal in place with a third party which they believe to be Liverpool.

Liverpool will still be desperate to get Alexander-Arnold to commit, along with Mo Salah and Virgil van Dijk, but Dumfries would be a tidy addition on a free transfer.

Capped 60 times by his country, the former PSV Eindhoven man is a marauding full-back who has been a key part of a successful Inter side since joining in 2021.

He has won one Serie A title, two Coppa Italias and helped Simon Inzaghi's side reach the 2023 Champions League final.
