Emergency services have cordoned off an area where Liverpool's bus passed through in their Premier League title parade after reports of a major incident which saw a number of people injured.
After lifting the trophy on Sunday at Anfield, Liverpool's stars celebrated their 20th league title with a parade through the city as Arne Slot's men were greeted by hundreds of thousands of fans lining the streets.
But on Monday evening images and videos surfaced on social media relating to a shocking incident in the city centre where it was claimed a car had struck pedestrians on Water Street, near Dale Street.
The pictures, taken from an aerial view, showed a black car in the road, with police officers present along with a fire engine.
As seen in additional pictures, multiple ambulances quickly arrived on the scene as well as an air ambulance and shortly after, the Liverpool Echo received a statement from Merseyside Police, who provided an update and confirmed that a man had been detained at the scene.

"We are currently dealing with reports of a road traffic collision in Liverpool city centre," the statement read.
"We were contacted at just after 6pm today, Monday 26 May, following reports a car had been in collision with a number of pedestrians on Water Street.
"The car stopped at the scene and a male has been detained.
"Emergency services are currently on the scene. We will issue more updates as we have them."

One video taken from a nearby building showed multiple pedestrians being mowed down in quick succession as horrified fans watched on.
A second statement arrived from a spokesperson for the North West Ambulance Service, who said they are "currently assessing the situation".
"NWAS is supporting an incident in Liverpool city centre, following reports of a road traffic collision," the spokesperson told the Liverpool Echo.
"We are currently assessing the situation and working with other members of the emergency services. Our priority is to ensure people receive the medical help they need as quickly as possible.
"Updates will be published on this page and Mersey Police as we know more."
On X, Liverpool City Council said they are "currently liaising" with Merseyside Police about the situation, while reports said the Mowgli restaurant was being used as a station for medical emergencies.
The Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer, is being kept updated on any developments.
