Liverpool fans are demanding Mohamed Salah receives a 10-year contract after hearing what he said during a surprise visit of a girl's football team.

Salah has still yet to pen a new Liverpool deal, with his existing contract set to expire this summer as Michael Owen has disclosed what 'sources' have told him about his situation.

Virgil van Dijk is in the same situation just like Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is edging closer to signing for Real Madrid, but a fee could be involved despite the player being in the final months of his contract.

Salah has been strongly linked with a move to Saudi Arabia, having previously been pursued by Al Ittihad, who had a monstrous offer rejected by Liverpool.

But Liverpool fans want the 32-year-old to remain at Anfield.

Even more so after hearing what he said when he surprised a girl's football team in Toxteth.

Salah made a surprise appearance and could be heard saying a Scouse phrase.

He replied 'wa' when asked a question by a young girl, which Liverpool fans loved.

One X user wrote: "The scouse 'wa' at 52 seconds. Give the man a 10 year deal."

A second said: "Lifetime contract more like."

A third added: "A true Scouser."

Salah is enjoying an ultra-prolific campaign this season, having scored an impressive 32 goals in 43 matches.

He's been hugely influential under Arne Slot, who hopes to call upon his services next season.

In January, he said: "Everybody wants him, including us. We want him to extend of course as well - that is clear.

"I'm not surprised that Saudi want him but I wouldn't be surprised if other countries want him as well.

"He's old enough and wise enough, and has done so many smart things in his career, that he will make the right decision for himself and, hopefully, for us as well."

Salah is on course to win his second Premier League title with Liverpool.

The Reds are 12 points clear of second-placed Arsenal, with just nine league games remaining.
