Liverpool fans are discussing the very real possibility of Arne Slot's arrival at Anfield after a clip of his "moving" team-talk following a win over Ajax resurfaced.

Slot, 45, is a leading candidate to replace Jurgen Klopp at the end of the season.

In fact, the Dutchman is 'at the forefront' of Liverpool's search, according to Sky Sports, who say he appeals to the Premier League side because of his aggressive, full-throttle style.

Slot has certainly earned a reputation for his high-intensity style of play at Feyenoord since taking over ahead of the 2021/22 campaign, but what is he like in the dressing room?

In a clip posted on Feyenoord's social media channels, the former AZ Alkmaar boss can be seen delivering a passionate speech to his players following a 3-2 win against Ajax at the Johan Cruijff Arena.

Speaking to his players, Slot begins: "The reason we are where we are is because you work your ass off every single day and that’s the reason why you could beat this team here in their own stadium without our fans even being here.

"But, that again is an obligation for the upcoming weeks because you guys are going all to the national teams. Some will play, some don’t but we need to stay fit boys.

"This is only a win. It’s not more than a win. It’s a big win but it’s not more than a win."

Slot goes on: "We have a bigger goal this season and only winning for the first time in 17 years in Amsterdam. Our goal is bigger than that. So take care of your body, make sure come fit as you soon can back to the club so we can go for the last two months and make this season even more special than you already have.

"We’re not gonna be small. It’s only a win in Amsterdam. That what we did here. I would say before but that’s not completely true. So enjoy the win because it is a big win but take the obligation with you to the national team because we need you back fit. Because then we are going to make this season even more special."

Here's how fans on social media reacted to the footage.

One said: "Genuinely tearing up watching this speech. We’ve bagged an elite manager," while another commented: "Quite charismatic to be fair."

A third wrote: "Guys I’m excited now I’ve come around to the idea of him as manager."

A fourth added: "Okay... I'm impressed. He can be the right one to fill the Slot Klopp left."

The 45-year-old, who only signed a new two-year deal at the Rotterdam-based club in May, has previously hinted at a possible move.

"My next step will not be a club in Holland," he said in May 2023.

"If that is my next step, then I've failed completely. The normal next step will be to go abroad and I've always said the best league in the world is the Premier League."
