Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher made four bold predictions about the club in April, and three of them have already come true.

Carragher predicted Liverpool's transfer strategy ahead of the start of the summer window, and it's amazing how much of their plan he has already got right.

The Reds stormed to first place in the Premier League table last term to win their 20th league title in Arne Slot’s first season in charge.

However, they have not taken their foot off the gas and have already had a busy few months in a bid to rebuild their squad.

Carragher made four predictions during an appearance on The Overlap's It's Called Soccer show.

Firstly, he expected Liverpool to sign left-back Milos Kerkez from Bournemouth.

“Well, Liverpool’s sporting director Richard Hughes came from Bournemouth, and he brought Milos Kerkez to the club,” he said.

“The left back, he has been fantastic this season and I look at that and think it probably makes sense.”

Carragher was proven right within a matter of months as Liverpool completed the signing in late June.

He also foresaw that the Reds would choose young striker Hugo Ekitike over the more costly option, Newcastle’s Alexander Isak.

“The one player every club would love is Alexander Isak,” he added.

“I am not sure Liverpool would want to pay that type of money for one player. I think Liverpool’s model is that they want to get the next Isak.

“There is the lad at Eintracht Frankfurt, and I am not going to try and pronounce his name, Hugo Ekitike.

“That smacks to me of the sort of player that Liverpool would sign.

“I think he is 22, he has got great numbers this season, and he looks to me like the type of player that Liverpool would sign.”

The Reds announced that they had signed Ekitike on Wednesday, for a moment suggesting that they would end their pursuit of Isak.

However, in a sensational twist, there are now reports that Slot is eager to bring both strikers to Anfield this summer.

Carragher believed that the Reds would look for a player who could offer goals from midfield.

Needless to say, they have found that in the form of Florian Wirtz, who arrived from Bayer Leverkusen in June.

“For me, I still think Liverpool lack something going forward from midfield,” he said.

“I think they can definitely get someone in there who can score more goals.”

However, one of his predictions is yet to come to pass.

Carragher expected Liverpool to sell at least two of their star-studded line-up of forwards.

However, despite reports linking Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez with a move, that is yet to happen.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if two or three of the front six that Liverpool have move on and Liverpool replace them,” he added.
