Fans have been speculating that Liverpool’s help Twitter account is trolling Chelsea over the transfer saga involving Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo.

After being linked with a move to Chelsea for the majority of the summer transfer window, Liverpool came in with a £111 million bid for Caicedo on Thursday night.

Despite Liverpool and Brighton reaching an agreement, Caicedo has reported informed the Anfield club that he only wants to join Chelsea.

Now, it is up to Chelsea to agree a fee with Brighton which is higher than Liverpool’s British record bid.

However, it has been reported that Chelsea are yet to submit an improved bid for the Brighton midfielder.

On Saturday afternoon, the Liverpool FC Help Twitter account tweeted: “Please be advised Stamford Bridge is a cashless stadium,” ahead of the Premier League clash between the two sides on Sunday.

However, some fans feel it was a cheeky dig towards the Stamford Bridge club amid the speculation surrounding the Caicedo transfer saga.

One fan said: “I KNOW WHAT UR DOING.”

Another tweeted: “You know exactly what your doing.”

A third fan added: “That's why they haven't bid then.”

Someone else wrote: “You new what you where doing with that tweet like it.”

Whilst a fifth commented: “We already know that, struggled for over 24 hours to get some extra millions together!”

Another fan said: “Do I see a cryptic clue in this statement?”

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano has given an update on the Caicedo transfer.

He wrote on Twitter: “Crucial, final day ahead. Caicedo also tonight has been clear with Brighton as he was with Liverpool around lunch time: he wants to be sold to Chelsea.

“Official bid to follow, won’t be less than £110m.”

Liverpool and Chelsea will meet at Stamford Bridge on Sunday as they kick off their 23/24 Premier League campaign.
