Liverpool fans are convinced they have spotted one of Arne Slot's apparent transfer targets at Anfield.

On Saturday afternoon, Liverpool continued their bid to win the Premier League title with a comfortable win over Ipswich Town at Anfield.

Goals from Dominik Szoboszlai and Mohamed Salah plus a brace from Cody Gakpo sealed a 4-1 win. Jacob Greaves was the scorer for the visitors.

As a result, Liverpool maintained their six-point lead at the top of the Premier League table.

On the back of the match, Reds fans were sent into orbit after they were convinced that Ajax defender Jorrel Hato was present at Anfield.

An image was shared on social media and a few fans appeared to spot that one of the Dutchman's friends was also at Anfield.

Hato has been linked with the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea after impressing in Dutch football.

Fans have since been reacting on social media claiming Hato could be on his way to joining Slot's team.

One fan said: "Ajax ain't playing this weekend, so probably just went on a small trip visiting some friends."

Another tweeted: "No, but it actually is, the ear ring aswell, it’s actually him."

A third fan added: "I doubt a player who is joining or in talks would be sat with the general public though."

Someone else wrote: "If we get him we will be sorted for next 12 years on that LCB position, amazing player."

A fifth commented: "Please please BRING HIM on board!!!"

However, there has been no confirmation on whether Hato was actually at Anfield and it is just purely fans speculation.

SPORTbible has reached out to Jorrel Hato's representatives for comment.

Ajax star Jorrel Hato linked with Liverpool move

As reported by TeamTalk, Liverpool are thinking about making a move for Hato before the end of this month's transfer window.

The report stated: "Arne Slot highly values him for his versatility as a centre-back and as a left-back and considers his potential, combined with his young age, an excellent mix for a player of potentially very high value.

"Ajax would not want to lose him in this winter transfer window, but for an offer of around €30m (£25.2m/$31.5m) – also in light of their financial situation – they could evaluate his sale now."

Liverpool are back in action on Wednesday night when they take on PSV Eindhoven in the UEFA Champions League.
