Arne Slot’s Post-Match Comments After Liverpool Defeat Branded 'Salty'

Arne Slot spoke to the media after his Liverpool side lost a fourth game in a row, at the hands of Manchester United.

Arne Slot was branded "insufferable" and "rattled" in his post-match interview after Liverpool were beaten 2-1 at home to Manchester United on Sunday.

The Premier League champions suffered a fourth defeat in a row in all competitions, with Harry Maguire popping up with the winner at Anfield.

Bryan Mbuemo put the visitors ahead just two minutes into the clash while Alexis Mac Allister was on the turf feeling the effects of a head injury, before Cody Gakpo equalised.

But Maguire headed home in the 84th minute to give United a first win at Anfield since 2016 and ease pressure on Ruben Amorim.

Slot, however, is in the middle of his most difficult patch at Liverpool - with the Premier League champions horribly out of form and without a win since victory over Southampton in the Carabao Cup.

But after the latest loss, the Dutchman caused a stir by accusing United of playing with a low block and playing long ball football en route to victory.

"It's always difficult to play against a team that defends in a low block, that mainly plays a long ball but it makes it even more difficult if you go 1-0 down after one minute after a player of ours is on the floor," Slot told Sky Sports.

"I think if you would have told me before the game, against a low block and against a team that plays so many long balls, that we would have created as many chances as we did - I would not have expected us to lose this game.

"I think people forget how many chances we had when we were 1-0 down in the first half because when you're 1-0 down it's quite normal that people focus on the ball you play wrong or a moment where you could have played forward and you don't."

Fans respond to Slot's comments

Slot's comments did not go down well with some fans online, who disagreed with his assessment of the game and called for more accountability while claiming that he showed his true colours.

One fan on X wrote: "The guy is insufferable."

A second said: "Rattled. Love it."

A third claimed: "Always giving excuses and 0 accountability."

A fourth person fumed: "Don’t think I’ve ever seen a Slot interview where isn’t moaning about something."

A final user stated: "This guy is such a sore loser".
