Liverpool fans blown away by Arne Slot's 'elite mentality' after Man Utd win
Liverpool fans are impressed with Arne Slot’s comments after his side’s victory over Manchester United.
On Saturday night, Premier League rivals Liverpool and United faced off at the William-Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina.
Although United had more chances, Liverpool came away 3-0 winners thanks to goals from Fabio Carvalho, Curtis Jones and Kostas Tsimikas.

Speaking after the match, Reds boss Slot said: “We should have controlled the game better. United created big chances and deserved more than a 3-0 loss.”
Reacting to his words on social media, one fan said: “He knew we're still far from the best. Proper elite mentality.”
Another tweeted: “Arne Scott is him!!!! We've got another J Klopp in this man, no doubt.”
A third fan added: “Good mentality, it’s just pre season.”
Someone else wrote: “Love the mentality.”
A fifth commented: “Slot not taking any prisoners.”
Speaking about the tour of the US, Slot said: “Very positive, I think. Of course the results, that's where everybody is looking at. But players stayed fit and they are able to perform in the way we want, so [a] high-intensity game. We saw some great goals during this tour, some great build-up situations and I see them working really, really hard not to concede.
“Like I said, today I think we gave away too many chances, United deserved more than a 3-0 loss. But it's also our quality that we do score our own chances.”
The Dutchman added: “A lot of new players come in – I think seven, eight or nine maybe. Not new but they come back from their holiday.
“So it's interesting to see how these players fit into the team and implement them as soon as we can. We need to work hard in the upcoming two weeks to be ready for Ipswich because there are a lot of positives to take from today but also, like I just said, we gave away too many chances.”
Liverpool will take on Sevilla and Las Palmas before kicking off their 24/25 Premier League season against newly-promoted Ipswich Town.
