Fan wins 125/1 bet from Liverpool’s thrilling 1-1 draw against Arsenal

Liverpool were held by Arsenal in a thrilling encounter at Anfield

A fan has managed to win a 125/1 bet from Liverpool’s thrilling encounter with Arsenal.

On Saturday, the Premier League’s top two teams went head to head as second-placed Liverpool welcomed league leaders Arsenal to Anfield.

Mikel Arteta got off to the perfect start after defender Gabriel Magalhaes headed in Martin Odegaard’s free kick inside five minutes.

Liverpool got themselves level after Mohamed Salah thrashed in a left-footed finish past David Raya just before the half-hour mark.

In the end, the game ended 1-1 after Trent Alexander-Arnold squandered a huge chance to make it 2-1 towards the latter stages of the match.

After Gabriel’s goal, a fan took to social media to express his delight as he managed to win £1260 from a 125/1 bet.

The bet was for Gabriel to score a header and to score first, with both happening at the same time when the Brazilian headed the Gunners in front.

Posting on social media, the fan posted a picture of his bet slip with a caption that read: “Gabriel you beautiful man.”

On the back of the result at Anfield, Arsenal remain top of the Premier League with 40 points, one point ahead of Liverpool and Aston Villa.

Speaking after the match, Gunners boss Arteta said: “It was an unbelievable game. One of the most intense I’ve seen in 20 years.

“For the players to show the courage and determination, it is a big credit to them. It shows a lot of consistency for this group to do it for two years. We are where we want to be in the league right now. We will have a beautiful family Christmas.”

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said: “Oh my god, how strong are they?

“We could have won, maybe should have won. Trent hitting the crossbar should have been a goal. It was two really good football teams. Super-intense.”

Liverpool will take on newly promoted Burnley on Boxing Day before Arsenal take on West Ham United two days later.
