Fans think they have found the moment Ronaldinho realised Lionel Messi was destined for greatness.

Having played for the likes of Grandoli and Newell’s Old Boys, Messi joined Barcelona’s youth system back in 2000.

In 2003, Messi was promoted to Barcelona’s C team before making his first team debut during a friendly against Porto in November 2003.

Messi was officially promoted to the senior side in October 2004.

In May 2005, Messi scored his first goal for the Catalan club against Albacete, at the time, he became the youngest-ever goal scorer for the club.

Taking to social media, fans think that was the moment Ronaldinho realised Messi was destined to do great things.

Reacting to a video of Messi and Ronaldinho celebrating after the goal, one fan said: “Ronaldinho knew what he was going to be…”

Another commented: “It’s more like the day Ronaldinho introduced the world to Lionel Messi.”

A third fan added: “Ronaldinho knew it....he knew this kid would be the BEST OF ALL TIME!!!”

Someone else wrote: “It had to be Ronaldinho the one transferring the magic, the power, illumination unto Messi. A transfer of mastery.”

Since then, Messi went on to make 778 appearances for Barcelona, scoring 672 goals.

In 2021, the forward left Spain as he signed for French side Paris Saint Germain, with which he played 75 times and scored 32 goals.

Messi completed his dream in 2022 when he inspired Argentina to World Cup glory in Qatar after they beat France in a dramatic final.

Last summer, Messi ditched European football as he signed for Major League Soccer club Inter Miami.

Since moving to the United States, Messi has been joined by former Barcelona teammates Jordi Alba, Sergio Busquets and Luis Suarez in Miami.

Throughout his illustrious career, Messi has won countless individual awards, including eight Ballon d'Or trophies.
