Lionel Messi could be forced to find a new agent due to a new FIFA regulation, according to reports.

Messi left Paris Saint-Germain to join David Beckham's Inter Milan following a secret hotel visit.

He's starred for the Florida-based outfit, helping his side win the Leagues Cup - the club's first piece of silverware.

Despite only signing for the MLS side a few months ago, Messi has been linked with a temporary switch away from Inter Miami.

The MLS season is set to end later this month, with Barcelona and clubs in Saudi Arabia linked with his services.

Should any transfer materialise, Messi's father Jorge is expected to be central to any negotiations over his son's future.

According to Spanish outlet Marca, however, new FIFA regulation has meant Messi may be forced to part ways with his father as a representative.

FIFA want agents to be licensed, while the organisation are capping the commission they earn on transfer fees and salaries and prohibiting multiple representation.

Jorge will need a license to be allowed to represent any footballer, negotiate a contract or collect a commission, even indirectly.

The 65-year-old has looked after the seven-time Ballon d'Or winner's professional career.

As mentioned, Messi has been linked with a short-term deal away from Inter Miami. But Guillem Balague claims the 36-year-old will have a 'one month holiday' during the off-season.

If that's the case, Jorge won't be required to negotiate a transfer and Messi won't need to find a new agent.
