Lamine Yamal reportedly has an astronomical release clause in his contract with Barcelona.

Heading into Euro 2024, Spain and Barcelona youngster Yamal had been the talk of the town after he burst onto the scene during the 23/24 campaign.

In total, Yamal made 50 appearances across all competitions for the Catalan club, scoring seven and assisting 10.

The 16-year-old’s impressive performances earned him a place in Luis de la Fuente’s Spain squad for Euro 2024.

During the tournament in Germany, Yamal has so far registered one goal and three assists in six matches.

Yamal scored a stunning goal against France on Tuesday night to become the youngest-ever scorer in Euro history.

On the back of his impressive performances for Spain, many big clubs around the globe will be keeping a keen eye on Yamal going forward.

However, it will take a mammoth fee for Barcelona to part ways with their latest star boy.

As reported by CNN Sports, Yamal signed a new deal with Barcelona back in October 2023, which will keep him at the club until June 2026.

Within the contract, it has been claimed that there is a release clause of one billion euros.

Speaking on the back of Spain’s victory over France, Yamal said: “I need to help my team and that’s what I tried to do today.

“I was aiming for exactly the top corner where my shot went in and that was a feeling of pure elation.”

He added: “I try not to think too much about what’s going on. I just want to enjoy myself and help the team. Getting to the final is really special. I was really happy after the final whistle. It’s the dream come true.”

Spain boss De La Fuente said: “We are very happy, the happiness was already great to get here but now it is much greater. I feel a lot of pride for these players, they are exceptional, they know how to play and read the games in an extraordinary way.

“We have returned Spanish football to where it belongs. We have to value what these players are doing. We want to continue making history, we don’t want to relax, we have to stay focused to face the final in Berlin.”
