Jamie Carragher speaks out on what he found most 'annoying' about watching Gary Neville on Dragons’ Den

Gary Neville appeared on BBC’s Dragons’ Den on Thursday night

Jamie Carragher has revealed what he found annoying about watching Gary Neville on Dragons’ Den.

Former Manchester United defender Neville made his debut on the popular BBC business show Dragons’ Den after being invited to be a ‘guest Dragon’ last year.

Neville’s debut episode was aired on Thursday night as fans tuned in to see the former England man swap football for business.

During the episode, Neville invested in two businesses, Cosy Cinema and Full Power Cocoa.

On the back of Neville’s appearance, fellow Sky Sports pundit Carragher took to social media to react to the show.

He wrote: “Catching up with Dragons' Den from last night and annoyingly Gary Neville was very good.”

After admitting he was ‘nervous’, Dragons Den legend Deborah Meaden said: “Well you weren’t when you were in The Den.. you owned it!” To which Neville replied: “Thank you Deborah that means a lot! I was looked after so well by you all.”

Neville also wrote on social media: “Well what a thrill. I’ve always loved the programme and to be on it is an honour. Hope you enjoyed it.”

During the show, Neville was on the end of a cheeky joke by a contestant who owns a company selling football boots used by players.

Billy Childs said to Neville: “I'm excited about Gary being a Dragon here.

“Hopefully his interest in my business is better than his punditry - opinions on some teams' defending in the Premier League.”

However, Neville was not too keen on the idea of Childs’ business.

He said: “There isn't a single football player that I know that ever gives their boots, gloves and shirt away to be profited from.

“Certainly the modern player, they ordinarily would give those away to auction for charity or they would give them away as a gift to a member of the community or a fan.

“Football players wouldn't like the idea of their property that was gifted to someone being profited from.”
