Jack Grealish delivered an X-rated response after seeing a social media post criticising Raheem Sterling.

Earlier in the month, upon leaving Premier League giants Chelsea, Sterling, 31, signed for Dutch side Feyenoord on a deal until the end of the season.

Feyenoord, managed by former Manchester United and Arsenal striker Robin van Persie, currently sit second in the Eredivisie table and are 14 points off leaders PSV Eindhoven.

Speaking after moving to Feyenoord, Sterling said: "As a free agent, I've had, for the first time in a long time, the opportunity to control the next step in my career. In my career. I wanted to take my time to speak with clubs and their head coaches to better understand the role they envisioned for me and ensure that I can add real value in this next chapter.

"Having spoken in great detail with Robin, I'm confident that Feyenoord is a place I can be happy and establish myself as a valued member of the team."

On Sunday, Sterling made his debut for his new side, coming on in the 61st minute for Gijs Smal during Feyenoord's 2-1 victory over Telstar.

Perhaps as expected, Sterling looked a little rusty and off the pace, having played zero football so far this season.

On social media, Sterling was mocked by an account, which stated: "Sterling's Feyenoord Nightmare: Is it time to call it a day?"

In the comments section, current Everton star Grealish, who is on loan from Manchester City, was far from impressed as he branded the post as 'f******* stupid'.

He wrote: "What a f***in stupid instagram post man what’s wrong with you guys. Guy hasn’t played or trained for so long.

"Ppl like u guys is what wrong with the world. Have some respect."

Speaking after his Feyenoord debut, Sterling made an honest admission.

He said: "Haven't played in little bit, but just trying to keep fit.

"Been with the team now for a little bit, so it's just all on building a step at a time and trying to get to match fitness. Good to start your first game with a win, think that's the most important. [With] the targets that we're chasing, so a good debut."

Meanwhile, Van Persie said: "Raheem trained last Tuesday, for the first time with the group. That was his first time in a group in several months. When you see the choices he makes in small moments, how quickly he thinks and switches, you see that other players also see it and respond to it. That's how it works.

"You also want to show each other that you're good too. That was evident in those training sessions. In my opinion, he's a player of exceptional quality."
