Fans in disbelief after learning Italy's four strict rules that all players must follow during Euro 2024

Fans in disbelief after learning Italy's four strict rules that all players must follow during Euro 2024

Italy boss Luciano Spalletti has banned players from doing these things at Euro 2024 as they aim to retain their title.

Fans have been left in disbelief after the four strict rules imposed by Italy manager Luciano Spalletti for Euro 2024 were revealed.

Italy are looking to retain the European crown they clinched three years ago after beating England on penalties in the final at Wembley.

However, they are seen as outsiders and have been placed in a difficult group alongside Spain, Croatia and Albania.

It will be Spalletti's first major tournement in charge after he took over from Roberto Mancini last year following a title-winning spell with Napoli.

He's regarded as a talented manager but many fans have raised eyebrows over the strict rules he has enforced for this summer's tournement.

As reported by EuroFoot, Spaletti has banned all players from using a PlayStation, headphones, and mobile phones at the massage table and playing games at midnight.

He has likely imposed the rules in a bid to avoid distractions and fans have been quick to reply to the post.

Some have reacted positively with one saying: "No serious player will complain about these rules."

But the majority believe they are harsh and that it won't make any difference to how they perform in the competition.

"They still won't win it," one said. With another replying: "They ain't making it out of the group."

While many think both Spain and Croatia have a better chance of qualifying for the knockout stages, the four best third-placed teams also qualify which could benefit Italy.

They only narrowly qualified automatically for the finals, finishing second in their qualifying group behind England and ahead of Ukraine only on goal difference.

Recent friendlies also saw them draw with Turkey and only narrowly beat Bosnia and Herzegovina 1-0.

Italy's opening game against Albania on Saturday will be their first major tournement match since that victory in the final as they also failed to qualify for the World Cup back in 2022.
