Gianluigi Donnarumma and his partner were attacked in a vicious robbery, according to shocking reports in France.

The Paris Saint-Germain star and his girlfriend Alessia Elefante were targeted by several people between Thursday July 20 and Friday July 21.

According to French outlet Actu17, the couple were tied up at their flat before having £432,153 worth of jewellery and other luxury items stolen

The door to their home in Paris was broken during the violent raid before the robbery took place.

Donnarumma and Elefante escaped to a nearby hotel where they took refuge, with the pair taken to hospital.

Hotel workers treated the pair and informed the police about the incident, with authorities now working to track down the assailants.

A spokesperson for Paris prosecutor's office said: "An investigation has been opened on charges of armed robbery in an organised gang and aggravated violence following the events that took place overnight at Mr. Donnarumma's place."

Donnarumma's agency also provided a statement on the terrifying ordeal.

"Raiola is aware of an incident concerning Gianluigi Donnarumma and his partner in the early hours of this morning," read a statement posted on social media.

"They are in shock at what happened but doing well under the terrible circumstances. Both are assisting the police with their enquiries. Gigi, his partner and Raiola will be making no further comment until the police complete their investigation. We ask you to respect Gigi and his partner's privacy at this time."

It's not the first time a PSG player has been burgled as Marquinhos and Angel Di Maria, during his time at the club, were also subjected to robberies.

Donnarumma joined the French giants in the summer of 2021 from AC Milan on a free transfer.

He's been at the club for two seasons and has won two league titles during his time at the Parc de Princes outfit.
