Gary Neville asked for an apology from Jamie Carragher after he turned up late for the latest edition of Stick to Football.

Carragher wasn't present at the beginning of the episode of The Overlap's Stick to Football, which featured Neville, Roy Keane, Ian Wright and Jill Scott.

Scott asked Neville if she was sitting in Carragher's seat instead, although the Liverpool legend's absence wasn't brought up until he finally arrived at the studio.

Upon his arrival, Scott exclaimed: "Oh my god! Are you rough?"

Carragher turned around before replying: "No, I'm fine. It's not right is it, sorry."

After he had settled down, Neville asked him: "Did you sleep through your alarm? Don't turn this on to me, having walked in 45 minutes late!"

Carragher dodged the question, but asked if he was still going to get full pay for the episode.

He then elaborated: "No I didn't [go for drinks]. I was just knackered - Monday Night Football, two Champions League nights..."

Neville later revealed that the Liverpool icon had missed a CPR demonstration that involved Luton defender Tom Lockyer, who is recovering after suffering a cardiac arrest during a match against Bournemouth in December.

Carragher looked crestfallen, before shouting to Lockyer: "Oh, sorry Tom. I've done more work than you lot [co-pundits] with this!

"I changed government legislation over this! I got [the defibrillators] in all the schools up and down the country."

After the show had concluded, Neville took aim at Carragher: "You know something, your professionalism, or lack of it, has disrupted that show."

Carragher responded: "That clip when I come in, and that bit of banter, that will go viral."

While the rest of the studio burst into laughter at that comment, Neville stood shaking his hand, before adding: "F***ing embarrassing."

His expression changed though, when Scott joked: "It'll be like, 'Episode 64 - Manchester United still have no structure'."
