Punter makes 'worst cash out of all time' on 18-fold accumulator that cost him massive win

An unlucky punter lost out on thousands last weekend after they cashed out on an 18-fold accumulator for just £34.68.

The person involved placed £10 on 18 fixtures from last weekend's action, including Rangers and Liverpool, who both secured victories in the early Saturday afternoon kick-offs.

It was a solid start to proceedings but with odds of 3129/1 at the start of play, things were looking bleak at half-time, when in-form Manchester City went 1-0 behind against West Ham.

Spurs also went a goal behind against newly-promoted Sheffield United in the 73rd minute so, presumably midway through the 3pm kick-offs, the punter decided to cash out early for £34.68.

They'd managed to bag a respectable profit considering RB Leipzig, Aston Villa, Fulham, Norwich, Celtic, Exeter, Gillingham, Preston North End, Barnsley, Wrexham, Ipswich and Sunderland were also on their bet.

But in a cruel twist, two injury-time goals from Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski sealed a dramatic late win for Spurs, while all of the above managed to pick up victories.

Then, to rub salt into the already-open wounds, a Callum Wilson penalty sealed all three points for Newcastle before Barcelona thumped five goals past Real Betis in a convincing 5-0 win at the Camp Nou.

If the punter decided to carry on with the bet then they would have turned their £10 free bet into £31,295.

One fan commented on footage of the bet from his Sky Bet app, saying: "Worst cash out i’ve ever seen in my life," while another said: "My word. This is one of the worst I’ve ever seen. Seriously why would you?"

A third added: "The fact it’s a free bet makes it 100x worse."

Another punter, meanwhile, was applauded for his 'bet of the season' contender at the weekend after he became £55,000 richer from an £8 accumulator.

A Ladbrokes customer based in Ireland decided to place a unique "comeback bet" where he needed Liverpool, Manchester City, Aston Villa and Tottenham to all come from losing positions and win.

It was only a four fold and a quartet of strong sides were selected but the requirements of the slip made it a lot more speculative.

However, in some truly incredible scenes - all four did exactly what the bettor ordered.

Manchester City found themselves 1-0 down to West Ham after James Ward-Prowse continued his fine run of form, but turned it around courtesy of goals from Jeremy Doku, Bernardo Silva and Erling Haaland.

Liverpool, who trailed to an early strike from Wolves' Hwang Hee Chan, also won 3-1 after stepping things up in the second half.

Aston Villa and Spurs then provided more late drama that saw the punter win big.

Ladbrokes spokesperson Alex Apati said: “Squeaky bum time is the understatement of the season when it comes to this one. In the blink of an eye, and in a record-breaking Premier League moment at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium, our punter went from zero to €64,000 hero.”

Here is the slip in full:

Liverpool - 15/2

Aston Villa - 19/2

Man City - 8/1

Tottenham - 7/1
