How much pop superstars Shakira and Madonna, as well as Korean boyband BTS, will earn for headlining the World Cup final's half-time show this summer has emerged.
The showpiece event at MetLife Stadium on July 19th will feature a Super Bowl-esque half-time show for the first time in competition history.
Chris Martin, frontman of Coldplay, will curate the show that FIFA president Gianni Infantino called 'a show befitting the biggest sporting event in the world' in a statement last year.
It mirrors last year's Club World Cup final between Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain, also held at MetLife Stadium.

Tems, J Balvin and Doja Cat were the headliners that day, to the despair of football supporters across the globe. Many criticised the length, which extended half-time way beyond the 15-minute regulation period. It's believed the World Cup final acts will perform for 11 minutes.
Shakira's involvement will be a welcoming face to supporters of a certain age. We all loved Waka-Waka in 2010, didn't we?

Well, we now know that she and her fellow performers will not be taking home any money for their performance. Per The Athletic, sources have confirmed the acts will donate their time to social justice organisation Global Citizen instead of being paid.
It's a similar situation to what happens in the Super Bowl. Half-time acts for the Super Bowl also aren't paid; instead, they decide to use the exposure of the most-watched television broadcast in the United States to enhance their brand.
FIFA previously announced the 2022 World Cup final between Argentina and France had a global reach of 1.42 billion viewers across the globe.

FIFA president Gianni Infantino comments on half-time show
Infantino released a further statement on Thursday, explaining Shakira, Madonna and BTS' music 'transcends borders and generations'. He also added that the show will be a 'celebration of football', rather than commercialised.
"Madonna, Shakira and BTS are global icons whose music transcends borders and generations, and we are proud to welcome them to the first-ever FIFA World Cup Final Halftime Show curated by Chris Martin of Coldplay," Infantino said.
"As the world comes together for the biggest match in football on 19 July 2026 in New York, New Jersey, this historic show will also shine a light on a greater purpose by supporting the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund and our shared mission to expand access to quality education and football opportunities for children worldwide. It will be a celebration of football, unity and shared humanity that will resonate far beyond the final whistle."
