Punter wins £103,228 from insane £10 seven-fold bet after Spain win World Cup
A lucky punter is more than £100,000 richer after Spain's World Cup final victory over Argentina completed a quite extraordinary seven-fold accumulator.
Back in October last year, a Sky Bet customer backed the winners of seven major sporting events spanning football, cricket and darts - and did so by placing a £10 bet.
Firstly, the punter celebrated Australia beating New Zealand in the T20 International series before Luke Littler became the first man since Gary Anderson in 2016 to defend his World Darts Championship title.
Perth Scorchers then secured a record-extending sixth men's Big Bash League title with a six-wicket win over Sydney Sixers and soon, things began to get real when India lifted the 2026 ICC Men's T20 World Cup.

Now, the punter was just three results away from a life-changing payday.
Aston Villa produced a superb performance in the Europa League final, recording a 3-0 win over Bundesliga side Freiburg, before Paris Saint-Germain retained their Champions League title by beating Arsenal on penalties.
It must have been a nerve-wracking wait for the punter but on Sunday, after they overcame the likes of Portugal, Belgium and France, Spain secured a second World Cup thanks to a 106th-minute goal from Ferran Torres.
As a result, the seven-fold accumulator was complete, turning a £10 stake into £103,228.

After Spain managed to overcome Argentina in the final, the bet was shared on Sky Bet's social media channels alongside a caption that read: "Is this the greatest bet of all time..."
A spokesperson from Sky Bet said: “It’s not often you see a bet stretching across nine months, let alone one that lands all seven selections to return more than £100,000 from a £10 stake. From Luke Littler lifting the Sid Waddell Trophy to Spain becoming world champions, this customer had to navigate some of the biggest sporting moments of the past year.
“It’s an incredible accumulator and one we’re sure they’ll remember for a very long time!”
Conor McGregor put $100,000 bet on World Cup final after 'some guy on the internet' made score prediction in 2021
Ahead of Sunday's final, former UFC two-division champion McGregor placed a $100,000 bet on Argentina to defend their world title.
Speaking in a video on his Instagram story, McGregor says he was inspired by the X user @actuallyimthe, who predicted in 2021 that Argentina would beat Spain 3-2 in the 2026 final.
"What's up folks, Conor McGregor here with my World Cup final bet. The bet will be Argentina to beat Spain 3-2 within the 90 minutes," he said.
"Why am I doing this? Five years ago, some guy on the internet predicted that Argentina and Spain would be in the World Cup final and that the score would be 3-2. How did this guy know these boys would be in the final? And then they are.
"Let's go. There it is, McGregor's World Cup final bet. Some guy on the internet, bring it home for me, baby. Let's go."
