Red Bull driver Max Verstappen has revealed to SPORTbible who he thinks will win the World Cup, stating that one team at the tournament are just "too good".

The quarter-finals of the World Cup kicked off on Thursday as pre-tournament favourites France continued to set a relentless standard during their 2-0 victory over Morocco.

Les Bleus have set up a potentially mouth-watering semi-final against Spain or Belgium, who lock horns on Friday, before England face Norway in their quarter-final on Saturday.

Thomas Tuchel's men are on a high after securing a nail-biting 3-2 victory over Mexico at the Azteca Stadium, somehow surviving the final 40 minutes after Jarell Quansah was sent off for a reckless challenge on Jesus Gallardo.

A victory of that magnitude in a hostile environment has supporters dreaming of football finally coming home as the Three Lions look to end 60 years of hurt.

While some are tight-lipped about England's chances, others have instantly shut down the prospect, including Red Bull driver Max Verstappen.

In an interview during SPORTbible's Hot Lap at Silverstone, the Dutchman was asked about the possibility of England winning the World Cup, quickly declaring that another team will emerge as winners.

"No, I don't think it will [come home]," Verstappen said. "I think France is too good."

Didier Deschamps' men have won all six of their matches at the World Cup, with Kylian Mbappe's tournament-leading eight strikes inspiring them to a third successive World Cup semi-final.

After predicting France to win the tournament, the 28-year-old was asked a series of other questions, including who he prefers out of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

It's arguably the debate in world football that causes the biggest divide, and instead of choosing one, Verstappen believes the two shouldn't be compared.

"You can't compare them because it's just different," he replied. "The way they achieved greatness, that's what I always find."

Full Max Verstappen Q&A

Interviewer: "Best looking F1 car?"

Max Verstappen: "I think the 2004 Ferrari. I think they're very cool."

Interviewer: "Football or Motorbikes?" [second sport]

Max Verstappen: "Motorbikes, MotoGP, yeah."

Interviewer: "This track [Silverstone] or Zandvoort?"

Max Verstappen: "I don't know, I like this one, I like Zandvoort. But this is [Silverstone] a little bit more high speed. I think on my list they're probably quite similar. But let's say this one."

Interviewer: "Give up gaming or give up music?"

Max Verstappen: "I guess give up gaming."

Interviewer: "Wet race or dry race?"

Max Verstappen: "Normally a dry race. I like driving in the wet, but it's always better to watch it for fans as well in the dry."

Verstappen's verdict on France is a popular one as they are clear favourites to win their third World Cup, followed by Argentina and Spain before then arriving at England in the pecking order.

Norway, who are aiming to pull off a huge upset against the Three Lions on Saturday, are in the group of outsiders alongside Switzerland and Belgium.
