The latest FIFA men’s world rankings have been released with England’s position revealed.

During the last international break, England unveiled their new permanent head coach, former Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Paris Saint Germain and Borussia Dortmund boss Thomas Tuchel.

During his first press conference, Tuchel said: “I understood very quickly that it is a big job. I think always the job you are in is the biggest job and it makes no sense to compare, but it feels big and feels like a privilege.

“I think it is pretty obvious I am very emotional. I love what I am doing and am passionate about football. This role just brought the young me alive and brought back my teenage days, to get excited for such a big task.”

He added: “Everyone can be assured we will do it with passion and emotions. We will try to install values and principles and rules as quickly as possible to make the dream come true.”

England were defeated by Greece before winning against Finland in their latest UEFA Nations League fixtures.

This week, the new FIFA world rankings were released, with the Three Lions unmoved as they remained fourth behind the likes of Spain, France and world champions Argentina.

Brazil, Belgium, Portugal, Netherlands, Italy and Colombia rounded off the top 10, with Germany just missing out in 11th place.

The biggest climbers this time around were Comoros, who moved up 10 places to 108th in the world.

Meanwhile, Tunisia were named the biggest fallers, dropping 11 places to 47th.

Botswana gained the most ranking points having added 38.3, with Cape Verde losing the most, having dropped 38.3.

England will return to action next month as they take on Greece and the Republic of Ireland in the Nations League, the two matches will be Lee Carsley’s final games in charge as the Three Lions’ interim boss.

Tuchel will then officially take over as England’s new head coach in January 2025, ahead of March's international break.
