The wife of Everton star Dominic Calvert-Lewin has shared the abusive message she received after posting about the final game at Goodison Park.

On Sunday, Everton said goodbye to their iconic stadium after 133 years ahead of a move to the brand new Hill Dickinson Stadium on Bramley Dock next season.

It was a perfect send-off for the Toffees as they ran out 2-0 winners over Southampton thanks to a brace from talisman Iliman Ndiaye in the first half.

A slew of former players and legends were welcomed onto the pitch to bid farewell in a special ceremony in what was an emotional day for everyone connected to Everton.

However, one supporter was not best pleased with a post made by Sandra Calvert-Lewin on Instagram.

Calvert-Lewin's final appearance at Goodison was as a substitute, replacing Ndiaye in the 75th minute.

Afterwards, his other half reposted a post from Squawka, who highlighted that Calvert-Lewin is the third-highest scoring player at Goodison.

Only Duncan Ferguson and Romelu Lukaku are ahead of Calvert-Lewin, who was praised by his wife for the achievement.

"30 goals at Goodison," @jerze wrote to her 31,6000 followers.

"Top 3 ever. They might not shout it - but we're proud every single day."

But a fan proceeded to deliver an angry reply, which Sandra shared to her story with the caption: "Can someone translate please?".

The message read: "F**k off honestly take ye stupid skirt wearing fella with ye trying to make it about yerself sad b***h."

After sharing a picture of Calvert-Lewin with former teammate Tom Davies, Sandra expressed further pride about the 28-year-old on her Instagram.

She wrote: "I've seen the unseen moments - the recovery, the doubt, the strength it took to keep going. The world saw Dominic Calvert-Lewin the footballer. I see the man I love. And I'm endlessly proud of both."

Scorer of 72 goals in 273 appearances for Everton, Calvert-Lewin is out of contract this summer and looks to move on - with Napoli, Arsenal and Newcastle United said to be keeping tabs on him.

The former Sheffield United man lost his place in the Everton side to Beto, who has scored 10 goals in 33 appearances in all competitions.

In response, Everton have released a strong statement condemning the abuse.

It read: "Everton Football Club strongly condemns the threatening, racist, and misogynistic abuse directed towards the wife of Dominic Calvert-Lewin on social media.

"This sinister and intimidating behaviour is not only deeply hurtful and distressing, it is also criminal - and does not represent the values of Everton or the overwhelming majority of our supporters.

"The Club has a zero-tolerance policy towards all forms of discriminatory and abusive behaviour. We are working closely with Merseyside Police and the Premier League to ensure the individuals responsible are identified and held accountable for their actions."

The statement continued: "Threats or abuse of any kind - whether online or in person - are completely unacceptable and have no place in our game or in society. The Club urges anyone who sees or experiences such behaviour to report it to the authorities and relevant social media platforms immediately.

"We will continue to offer our full support to Dominic and his family."
