EFL striker involved in Ibiza pool brawl breaks silence and explains his version of shocking altercation

Footage emerged of the player after he was allegedly involved in a poolside brawl while on holiday in Ibiza.

An EFL striker who was allegedly involved in a poolside brawl while on holiday has finally given his take on what happened.

Kian Harratt, who plays for newly promoted League 2 outfit Oldham, was allegedly involved in a brawl while holidaying with friends in Ibiza, Spain, earlier this week.

Harratt, 23, reportedly 'hurled a chair in the direction of a middle-aged woman who was trying to break up a brawl between his friends and another group of holidaymakers,’ according to the Daily Mail, which caused the woman to drop to the floor.

Onlookers also became involved and tried to defuse the situation while the group of men remained hostile towards them.

One eyewitness named Brandon Watkins, from Nuneaton, described what he saw in a Facebook post.

“Five lads came to our hotel being nobs around the pool splashing people, throwing balls at women, and one lad says 'what are you looking at' so he approaches me and I drop him,” he said.

"They then start throwing chairs because they couldn't fight, and everyone knows how slippy it is round a pool, so stopping chairs hitting us, I slip in the pool and that's what went viral."

Watkins added: “If they let me get back out the pool or got in with me then they would have been slapped again but they didn't; they got kicked out. Everyone sat around the pool after was coming up to us shaking our hands and buying us drinks because the lads were b******s."

Comments have since emerged from Harratt’s mother, and now the player has finally broken his silence and detailed the incident from his perspective.

As per The Sun, Harratt claimed that a man allegedly approached his friend and “went to punch him”, which caused him to intervene.

The 23-year-old also explained how a chair was originally thrown at him, so he then threw it back and did not intend to hit the woman.

Harratt also described the man involved in the altercation, saying: "He was the worst man you could ever come across and a bully! He was 6'6 and built like a brick!"

Meanwhile, onlooker Kyle Crawford described his experience to The Sun, explaining how Harratt and his friends were "being horrible” to a group of women and were "throwing little rugby balls" at other tourists.

"They were just in the pool splashing them and throwing balls at them - being proper immature," Crawford explained.

"Me and my mates stuck up for them, and then in the end, they'd come to attack my mate.”
