Cristiano Ronaldo has ruthlessly trolled Sergio Ramos after becoming the most followed Instagram account in the world.

Ronaldo hit an incredible 600 million followers on Instagram earlier this month, which means he has a bigger presence on the social media platform than the likes of Lionel Messi, Selena Gomez, Kylie Jenner and Dwayne Johnson.

That's a staggering ten times more than former Real Madrid teammate Ramos, who celebrated hitting 60 million followers on Wednesday.

On Instagram, he uploaded a picture of himself signing a bunch of boots, accompanied with the caption: "We started in 2014 and - although it seems impossible - we are now 60 million strong.

"To celebrate this and return some of the love you all give me, I’ve got a great competition for you: a giveaway of 20 pairs of signed Mizuno boots."

The Portuguese came across Ramos' post on Instagram and left a cheeky response in the comments.

Replying to the defender's post celebrating 60 million followers, he wrote: "You need another zero to catch me," with a laughing face emoji.

Fans seemed to love it, with his comment boasting over 100,000 likes.

Ramos could reunite with Ronaldo, with the 37-year-old linked with a stunning move to Al Nassr.

He's currently a free agent following the expiration of his Paris Saint-Germain contract. He enjoyed two seasons in France, making 58 appearances and scoring six goals. He won the two league titles during his time in Paris.

Of course, the Spaniard spent 16 trophy-laden seasons at Real, winning an impressive four Champions League titles, among other trophies.

Ramos and Ronaldo enjoyed nine years together in Spain, with a reunion potentially on the cards in Saudi Arabia.
