Arsenal fans are all making the same point just minutes into Liverpool vs Chelsea after controversial referee decision

Tosin Adarabioyo received an early caution for Chelsea against Liverpool but some felt he should have seen red.

Arsenal fans vented on on social media after Tosin Adarabioyo received a yellow card for Chelsea early on at Anfield against Liverpool.

As the visitors squeeze up the pitch, Liverpool went long and played it up to Diogo Jota to chase.

Former Fulham man Tosin got caught out and ended up tangling with Jota and bringing him down just inside his own half.

Liverpool demanded a red card just five minutes in but Tosin was instead handed a caution.

Reds fans were not happy with the decision but even more irate were Arsenal supporters watching on the television.

That's because, following a VAR review, William Saliba was sent off in a similar situation in the Gunners' 2-0 defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday.

One fumed: "Tosin Adarabioyo given a yellow card instead of a red for no reason other than the fact he doesn’t play for Arsenal Football Club."

A second said: "Tosin gets a yellow card for the same challenge that Saliba made yesterday."

A third vented: "Tosin Adarabioyo not sent off after exactly the same foul as Saliba yesterday. UNBELIEVABLE.

Another added: "Actually scary how much that Tosin yellow was the same as the Saliba red yesterday... PGMOL summed up within 24 hours."

A fifth weighed in, writing: "Chelsea defender, Tosin Adarabioyo gets a yellow card for an almost identical challenge to the one William Saliba got sent off for yesterday."

It seems as though the key difference in decisions was that Levi Colwill was deemed to be on the cover.

Jota was ultimately forced off with an injury which he appeared to suffer in the battle with Tosin, while Liverpool went 1-0 up after Mo Salah converted an emphatic penalty when Colwill brought down Curtis Jones.

Saliba, meanwhile, will serve a one-game ban against Liverpool next week after his dismissal.
