Eden Hazard sent six-word message which stunned his teammates before leaving Chelsea WhatsApp group

Eden Hazard left the Chelsea WhatsApp group after sending a six-word message to confirm his departure to Real Madrid.

Eden Hazard's six-word message to Chelsea players before leaving the squad's WhatsApp group has been revealed.

Hazard spent seven years at Chelsea and won six trophies, as well as scoring 110 goals in 352 appearances.

The PFA Player of the Award for the 2014/15 season, Hazard is considered to be one of the very best in Premier League history and signed off by firing Chelsea to the Europa League in 2019.

Hazard scored twice in the 4-1 thrashing of Arsenal and after the game confirmed he would be leaving following speculation he was heading to Real Madrid.

Having played his final game for Chelsea in Baku, he would go on to seal an £89 million switch to Real but there wasn't a lengthy emotional goodbye message from the Belgian.

According to former teammate Emerson Palmieri, there wasn't too much activity in the team's WhatsApp chat while they were on holidays but then Hazard came in with a brief message before exiting.

In an interview with ESPN Brazil, Emerson said: "He said goodbye to the boys and such, since then, we don't know anything else. It's weird. He sent a 'thank you, I love you guys', and then it showed 'Eden Hazard left the group'. I said 'damn, he really left."

Hazard had a forgettable time at Real, with injuries and a lack of form seeing him play just 76 times and score seven goals before his contract was terminated by mutual consent and he retired mere months later at the age of 32.

Hazard has settled debate between himself and Mo Salah

Hazard has regularly been compared to his former teammate Mo Salah, who is now joint-fifth in the Premier League all-time goalscoring charts after finding the net 184 times.

The Liverpool sensation's recent exploits have propelled him into the debate for the very best to play in the Premier League and Hazard was happy to admit that the Egyptian is better than him.

“Mo Salah, by far," he told SPORTbible in an exclusive interview.

"He was good already, you know, but that good? We played when he was playing in Basel. So we played Champions League the year before and then we were like, ‘Wow’.

“And then we bought him like, ‘Yeah, we have to. We have to buy this guy because this guy is so good’.

“And then, you know, in football you have ups and downs and then what he did with Liverpool is like, ‘Wow’.”
