A Premier League club has concrete interest in signing Dani Olmo, but they face a race against time to activate his release clause.

RB Leipzig midfielder Olmo has been one of the stars of Euro 2024 despite starting just three of Spain's six games.

On Tuesday the 26-year-old scored the decisive goal in Spain's 2-1 semi-final win against France, booking their place in the final of a major tournament for the first time since 2012.

The Spaniard has scored three goals and provided two assists at the tournament.

Last year Olmo signed a new contract with RB Leipzig valid until 2027, but the deal does include a release clause worth £50 million.

According to The Mirror, several Premier League clubs are monitoring the midfielder, with Chelsea holding a 'concrete interest. Liverpool are unlikely to make a move.

If new Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca is to get his hands on Olmo, then the club will have to act quickly.

The release clause in Olmo's Leipzig contract expires on Monday, the day after the final of Euro 2024 in Berlin.

Once that deadline has passed, Leipzig would likely demand between £60m and £70m for the attacking star.

In an interview with Mundo Deportivo ahead of the Euros, Olmo addressed his future.

"I am calm and focused on what is coming, which is the Euro, which is no small thing," he said.

"It is clear that it is good to see your name related to great teams in Europe and the world, that motivates me, but I am focused on the Euro and I hope we can return with the trophy."

After Spain defeated France, Olmo told reporters: "We are very close now, one step away from glory.

"We planned the game very well and, although we conceded a goal, we knew how to react with the spectacular goal from Lamine [Yamal] and then with my own. And in the second half we knew how to control it."
