Chelsea fans have already started to turn on one summer arrival after moment against Man City

Chelsea fans have already started to turn on one summer arrival after moment against Man City

Tosin Adarabioyo joined Chelsea from Fulham earlier this summer.

Chelsea fans have already seemingly made their minds up over one of the club's summer signings.

The Blues lost 4-2 to Manchester City in Ohio on Saturday, with Erling Haaland scoring a hat-trick.

Enzo Maresca's side delivered with two late consolation goals through Noni Madueke and Raheem Sterling but one other player received plenty of flack online.

Having only just signed from Fulham this summer, Tosin Adarabioyo was slammed for his performance in the US.

Adarabioyo, 26, was admittedly at fault for Manchester City's first goal, giving possession away before a penalty was awarded soon after the move transpired.

Supporters on social media were quick to criticism the defender, adding how his start to life at Stamford Bridge hasn't gone to plan.

"Lmao you “nerds” told me Tosin is a better passer than Chalobah," wrote one fan online. "[He] can’t pass the ball out of the back and then leads to a penalty."

"See there's a reason why he was still at Fulham at the big age of 26," added another.

"For someone who plays in the premier league, Tosin Adarabioyo is too slow not just in his movement but in his thinking as well," said another disgruntled Chelsea fan.

"What exactly did Chelsea see in Tosin Adarabioyo that was an improvement on what they already had? The guy is as mid as they come," wrote @sidramatics on X.

Maresca's side begin their Premier League campaign with a tricky test against Manchester City in just over two weeks time.

Adarabioyo spoke earlier this summer, after signing for the Blues, admitting the move was a no brainer for all parties.

“Chelsea is a huge club and this is a full-circle moment for me,” said Adarabioyo, who was born in London but raised in Manchester.

“I was born three miles away from Stamford Bridge and made my professional debut there.

“I’m very excited and looking forward to helping push the club in the direction we want to go.”
