Chelsea are set to sell seven players, including two stars they only signed in the summer.

Chelsea are set to offload seven players, including two stars who only joined in the summer.

Chelsea have forked out £860 million in three transfer windows and broke the British transfer record twice since Todd Boehly took ownership of the club.

That included a splurge of £397 million in Mauricio Pochettino's first summer in charge of the Blues, with the likes of Moises Caicedo, Cole Palmer, Nicolas Jackson, Romeo Lavia, Christopher Nkunku and Robert Sanchez all coming in.

But the new arrivals haven't improved fortunes at Chelsea, who are in 12th place and 14 points off the top four following a seventh defeat in 16 games against Everton on Sunday.

Unsatisfied with the performances of his players at Goodison Park, Pochettino called for even more signings.

He told the BBC: "This was a game to play and to win. It's a problem we need to check. We need to analyse the reality. We need to talk and to try and improve in the next transfer market.”

TEAMTalk say that as many as seven players are deemed to be dispensable at Stamford Bridge, with Axel Disasi and Malo Gusto both on that list.

Disasi, a £38 million signing from Monaco, has played 14 times in all competitions, with Gusto taking to the pitch on 11 occasions following a £30 million switch from Lyon.

Chelsea would be willing to accept offers for the pair in the next two windows as they look to find better quality options.

The same can be said for Armando Broja, Ian Maatsen, Noni Madueke and Marc Cucurella, who came in for a whopping £63 million from Brighton but has failed to impress.

Striker Nicolas Jackson is another player who hasn't got going but the former Villarreal man is set to be afforded more time - although a forward has been made a priority signing in January.
