Chelsea's forgotten player has got fans talking with a series of clips posted to his Instagram story.

Malang Sarr did not play a single game for the first-team last season, with Mauricio Pochettino not even recognising him as a member of his squad.

The Argentine responded by saying, "Who?" when asked about him in a press conference in August.

After a deal with Le Havre fell through, Sarr was forced to train with the Under 21 side and he had to get changed with the youngsters after his first-team locker was taken off him.

Sarr's last game at senior level was over a year ago at Monaco when they played Reims in March 2023, and his most recent Chelsea outing was on the final game of the 2021/22 season.

Yet the 25-year-old may well be given a fresh start under new boss Enzo Maresca, who has penned a five-year deal.

As shown on his social media, Sarr has already been putting in the work ahead of pre-season.

On his Instagram story, he posted several videos of him putting in the work.

Sarr has been in the gym partaking in exercises, as well as being out on the pitch as he looks to build up his fitness.

Last year he was involved in pre-season to begin with him but was then left out of a tour of the United States and then omitted from the Premier League squad by Pochettino.

But after a period in limbo, the France youth international is earning plenty of admirers for the lengths he is going to.

One wrote: "Malang Sarr redemption arc incoming! You heard it here first

A second said: "Hope he can get his situation sorted out, I'm all for the jokes but I hope he can get his career back on track somewhere.

A third agreed: "Seems like a good guy to be fair, hope we can find a new club for him this summer and he can just get on with his career."

Another simply added: "My glorious king!

A final person commented: "He’s prob not good enough but don’t think he’s done anything to warrant completely being shunned out."

Sarr still has a contract until 2025 and reportedly earns £100,000-a-week.
