A list of requirements needed to become Chelsea manager has emerged as the Blues continue to explore their options following the departure of Mauricio Pochettino.

Despite recording five straight wins at the end of the Premier League campaign, it was announced on Tuesday that Chelsea would part ways with Pochettino less than a year after his appointment.

A statement from the club read: "Chelsea FC can confirm that the Club and Mauricio Pochettino have mutually agreed to part ways."

It added: "Jesus Perez, Miguel d’Agostino, Toni Jimenez and Sebastiano Pochettino have left the club with Mauricio. The club will be making no further comment until such time as a new head coach is appointed."

Sporting directors Paul Winstanley and Laurence Stewart are leading the search for a new manager, and it appears they are hopeful of an appointment before June rolls around.

Stuttgart boss Sebastian Hoeness was originally in the conversation to take over alongside Girona's Michel, but the current shortlist appears to consist of four names.

Enzo Maresca, Kieran McKenna, Thomas Frank and another candidate who is not yet known are in the frame, according to The Telegraph, while Jose Mourinho has also been strongly linked with a return.

As rumours continue to swirl surround the vacant post, Sky Sports have posted a list of requirement needed to be Chelsea manager.

Firstly, the person in question must fit into the club structure and play a possession-based style of football.

They also must be collegiate, collaborative and be comfortable dealing with the media spotlight.

Finally, the list ends with the most talked about requirement. The next Chelsea manager should be ready to go head to head with Pep Guardiola and Mikel Arteta.

Here's how fans on social media reacted to the list.

One said: "It’s the last line for me. Banter all they want, fans of rivals should note that Arteta way is the blue print and their respective clubs see it."

A second wrote: "Toughest job in the world," while another commented: "Interesting."

A fourth added: "Mikel Arteta being the benchmark for Chelsea's manager requirements. When you are big you are big."

As mentioned earlier, Jose Mourinho is one of the names being mentioned in regards to the job at Stamford Bridge, In fact, he is now 3/1 via SkyBet, down from 20/1 just two days ago.
