Chelsea have set a new unwanted record following the 5-0 thrashing at the hands of Arsenal.

Former player Kai Havertz and Ben White bagged braces after Leandro Trossard fired the Gunners into an early lead at the Emirates Stadium.

Following an impressive eight-game unbeaten run, Chelsea suffered a second consecutive loss after they were beaten in Saturday's FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City at Wembley Stadium.

It was a night to forget for Chelsea and the hammering was the worst they have ever suffered against Arsenal.

But the heavy loss also saw Mauricio Pochettino's side make undesired history.

They have no conceded 57 goals in the Premier League, which is the most they have ever conceded in a single season.

There are still six games left for the Blues, who currently occupying ninth spot in the Premier League.

Chelsea shipped 47 goals in the Premier League in a dismal 2022/23 campaign and the defensive numbers are a far cry from the 15 strikes put past them in the 2004/05 title win under Jose Mourinho.

Havertz, meanwhile, enjoyed a historic night against his former employers.

The Germany international, who spent three seasons at Chelsea before signing for Arsenal in a £65 million switch, celebrated both of his goals in the second half.

That clearly irked Chelsea's social media admin as his name was not named in their score update tweets.

Instead, they simply announced "Goal" on both occasions.

Havertz has become the first player to play for Chelsea and later score a double against them.

Now three points clear of Liverpool at the top of the table, Arsenal take on North London rivals Spurs on Sunday.

Meanwhile, Chelsea look to get back to winning ways with a tricky trip to high-flying Aston Villa on Saturday night.
