Chelsea were ruthlessly trolled by non-league side Aldershot after they beat the Premier League giants 3-1 in a friendly.

But Chelsea fans are furious after discovering what they did for Aldershot back in 2013.

Mauricio Pochettino's senior squad are currently on their US pre-season tour, where they have beaten Wrexham and Brighton.

They beat the Welsh side 5-0 before playing out a 4-3 thriller against Roberto De Zerbi's side.

The Blues resume their US venture against Newcastle United on Thursday.

Back in England, Chelsea's under-23s had a run out against Aldershot, but failed to beat the National League outfit.

The Hampshire-based club won the fixture 3-1 as they poked fun at them on Twitter.

Following the result, they shared a graphic of the result, accompanied with the caption: "A comfortable victory against mid-table Premier League opposition."

Fans of both clubs reacted to the savagery online, with Chelsea supporters bringing up a story of how they saved Aldershot from 'financial ruin' after striking a youth-team agreement back in 2013.

One Aldershot fan wrote: "We’ve actually got Chelsea on strings. Unbelievable."

A Chelsea supporter tweeted: "Admin in trouble, better start job hunting now."

A third added: "Not the First Team so it doesn’t count."

Another joked: "Imagine your club being bantered by a non-league side."

A youthful-looking Chelsea side featured the likes of Teddy Curd, Dylan Williams and Ronnie Stutter as they suffered a shock defeat at The EBB Stadium.

As mentioned above, Pochettino's team will return to action against Newcastle before facing Fulham on Sunday.

They then face Borussia Dortmund before opening their Premier League campaign against Liverpool on August 13.
