Thierry Henry made a brutal comment when asked about internet personality IShowSpeed during Tuesday evening's live coverage of the Champions League on CBS.

Henry, 47, who is best known for his goal-scoring exploits at the likes of Barcelona and Arsenal, retired from playing in 2014 and has since embarked on a career in the media and coaching.

But on Friday, he laced up his boots for a special cause. The Frenchman and several other iconic former players – including Andres Iniesta, Andrea Pirlo and Alessandro Del Piero – took part in a charity game dubbed ‘Match for Hope’ at the 974 Stadium in Doha, Qatar.

The two teams were managed by former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and current USMNT head coach Mauricio Pochettino.

A group of influencers and internet personalities, such KSI and IShowSpeed, arguably stole the show alongside Henry.

Speed and Henry debated who the fastest out of the pair was.

“I was talking to your manager, and he said you were faster than me [in your prime],” explained Speed.

“Oh yes, maybe,” Henry replied. “With the ball, for sure.

“(Without the ball), I'm not too sure. Check the videos!”

The pair seemed to get along, so much so that Henry even invited Speed onto CBS Sports’ Champions League coverage.

“I would love to go on that show... because we got some things to talk about,” quipped Speed.

On Tuesday evening, Speed’s name cropped up during the broadcaster’s coverage of the night’s European fixtures.

And Henry gave a brutal assessment of Speed’s footballing ability when explaining who he was to fellow panel members Micah Richards, Jamie Carragher and presenter Kate Scott.

Carragher asked: "Does he [Speed] understand football... is he in football?"

Before Henry joked: "I don't know if [Speed] loves football, it looks like he was having a debate with the ball when he had it."

Fans had their say on social media.

One said: "Henry is unknowingly funny and Jamie not knowing Speed is the funniest thing ever."

Another added: "This is a W, Speed being in the show might hit."

While a third commented: "Bro when Speed comes to this show it will be jokes."
