Micah Richards left Jamie Carragher stunned with 'brutal' admission about his Twitter account

Micah Richards left Jamie Carragher stunned with 'brutal' admission about his Twitter account

The duo were in top form on CBS Sports.

Micah Richards left Jamie Carragher shocked during a discussion about social media accounts in the CBS Sports studio.

Richards, Carragher and Thierry Henry were on punditry duty, alongside presenter Kate Abdo, for Wednesday's Champions League clashes between Manchester City and FC Copenhagen, and Real Madrid and RB Leipzig.

All four members of the studio were on typically top form, with Carragher and Richards placing a 'bet' ahead of Liverpool's crunch Premier League clash against Manchester City, before manhandling each other as part of a tactical demonstration.

There was an interview with Jude Bellingham after Real's 1-1 draw with RB Leipzig - which saw the England midfielder troll Carragher over his choice of suits.

Elsewhere, the discussion turned to social media - with Carragher initially wondering whether managers check their Twitter accounts to see what he has been posting about him.

He then asked Richards: "Do you put your name in and search [yourself]?"

Richards replied that he has never done so on Twitter, which left Carragher and Abdo in shock.

Abdo said: "Lies! I'm calling total - on that. You've never searched your name on social media?"

"It was a bit too lively for you wasn't it, Twitter," Carragher added. "He had to take a backward step."

Richards explained: "Yeah, I came off Twitter about two years ago.

"I used to have mentions on Twitter so you could see absolutely everything.

"They were brutal. I'm not worried about it - I just don't use it. I prefer Instagram!"

Richards is reasonably active on Twitter, but only uses the platform to repost tweets from his 'The Rest is Football' podcast and CBS Sports coverage.

His last post was in January - which was, as you might expect, a dig at his 'The Rest is Football' and Match of the Day co-star Gary Lineker.
