Jude Bellingham tried to win the war of words with Harry Kane before the Bayern Munich striker took his penalty against Real Madrid - and the England captain's reaction said it all.

Kane had a number of chances in the first half of the Champions League semi-final first leg clash, but failed to test Andriy Lunin in the Real goal.

Thomas Tuchel's side went into the half-time interval 1-0 down after Vinicius Junior fired the ball past Manuel Neuer, in what was Real's only shot at goal over the course of the 45 minutes.

However, Bayern came out for the second half rejuvenated.

Leroy Sane levelled the scores at 1-1 on 53 minutes when he fired his effort beyond Lunin at the near post, before Jamal Musiala won a penalty after he was tripped by Federico Valverde.

Kane stepped up to score his eighth goal of the Champions League campaign for Bayern, calmly slotting the ball into the bottom left corner.

But Bellingham tried his best to put the England striker off - to little effect.

Non-broadcasted footage was recorded of the Real Madrid midfielder walking up to Kane as he prepared for his spot kick, before whispering something into his ear.

Kane, however, looked straight ahead at the goal as he worked out where he was going to put the ball and completely ignored Bellingham - with the England striker rarely affected by mind games.

The moment wasn't picked up by TNT Sports cameras, which did show Bellingham walking away from the scene before the spot kick was taken.

And fans took to social media to have their say.

One wrote: "Trash talking the England captain?"

A second said: "The disrespect to his England captain."

A third added: "Don't understand why Bellingham would do that to Kane at any time, let alone weeks before a major tournament."

A fourth urged: "Don't do this all the time man!"

However, others suggested the pair will be on more friendly terms when they aren't contesting a Champions League semi-final against each other.

The Real Madrid number five was celebrating minutes later, when Vinicius Junior scored a penalty at the other end to draw Real level on 83 minutes to level the tie at 2-2 at full-time.
