Fans have furiously slammed the Champions League draw as they hit out at the new format.

The Champions League draw took place today ahead of the competition getting underway next month.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Gianluigi Buffon joined UEFA officials to draw the 2024/25 Champions League campaign.

Buffon drew the Pot 1 teams while Ronaldo pressed a button, which computerised the rest of the group.

So far, Man City have been paired with Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool will host Real Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen, Arsenal meet the likes of Inter and PSG while Aston Villa will face Bayern Munich and Juventus.

A second said: "Ronaldo has already had enough of this Champions League draw."

A third added: "This UCL draw being computerised means it’s 100% rigged."

A fourth joked: "Cristiano Ronaldo “pressing the button” for the champions lge draw has to be one of the best things I’ve seen ha ha “he couldn’t look any less interested ha ha."

A fifth commented: "I can’t be the only one who doesn’t understand this new champions league format… still confused."

This season's Champions League kicks off on September 17, with fixtures scheduled on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday that week.
