New favourite emerges to win 2025 Ballon d'Or after PSG thrash Inter Milan in the Champions League

Paris Saint Germain have won the UEFA Champions League.

A new favourite to win the 2025 Ballon d'Or award has emerged after Paris Saint Germain's victory in the UEFA Champions League.

The French giants put on a masterclass inside the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany, as they thrashed Inter Milan in the Champions League final.

A brace from Desire Doue, plus goals from Achraf Hakimi, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Senny Mayulu sealed a 5-0 victory.

As a result, PSG have finally got their hands on Europe's premier club competition after years of failure.

On the back of the final whistle, the betting market for the 2025 Ballon d'Or winner has put up a new favourite, PSG star Ousmane Dembele.

It has been a wonderful season for the Frenchman as he has managed 33 goals and 15 assists in 49 matches across all competitions for PSG.

As a result, Dembele is now the favourite to get his hands on the prestigious Ballon d'Or award.

The 28-year-old has been priced at 1/2 by Bet Victor to win the Ballon d'Or ahead of Barcelona young star Lamine Yamal (3/1), Liverpool talisman Mohamed Salah (8/1) and Barcelona's Raphinha (20/1). (Odds were correct at the time of writing.)

Reacting on TNT Sports, Liverpool legend and 2005 Champions League winner Steven Gerrard said: "Does Luis Enrique deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as Carlo Ancelotti, Jose Mourinho or Pep Guardiola? The answer is yes.

"This team he has created and put together over the past year or two can beat you in any given way. The talent across this squad - it is a special group of players and they're getting coached by a special person as well."

Manchester United great Rio Ferdinand, who won the Champions League in 2008, added: "Luis Enrique is a remarkable human being. I have been in a position where you've had loss and it is difficult to know how you're going to react.

"He has continued and gone from strength to strength."
