Aston Villa supporters have voiced their anger after the club confirmed the price of tickets for Champions League games this season.

Unai Emery's side exceeded expectations to finish fourth in the 2023/24 Premier League campaign, securing a spot in European football's top club competition for this season.

As part of the newly-expanded Champions League format, Villa will have eight league phase fixtures that run until January, with four being staged at Villa Park.

Villa will host Bayern Munich, Juventus, Bologna and Celtic, while they also face Young Boys, Club Brugge, RB Leipzig and Monaco away from home.

On Wednesday, the Premier League club confirmed ticket prices for their four home fixtures.

Villa announced prices of £97 for non-season ticket holder adult seats in the Trinity Road Stand, while the cheapest adult tickets are priced at £70 for a season ticket holder in Zone Four and the wheelchair bay.

The cheapest over 66 and under 21 tickets are priced at £65 in the same zone for season ticket holders, while the equivalent tickets for non-season ticket holders are £75.

However, there are £20 tickets available for under 18 season ticket holders, with the same seats for non-season ticket holders priced at £30.

In comparison, fellow English clubs Liverpool and Manchester City are offering significantly cheaper tickets for adults this season.

The most expensive Liverpool ticket for a Champions League fixture is £61, although the same ticket is cheaper for over 65 (£45.75), Young Adult (£30.50) and Junior (£9) seats, as reported by Birmingham Live. Meanwhile, the cheapest standard adult ticket at Liverpool is priced at just £30.

At Man City, the most expensive ticket for an adult is priced at £72.50, with the cheapest £37.50.

Over 65s and under 21s see their most expensive and cheapest tickets priced at £65 and £32.50 respectively, while under 18s are also able to buy tickets for as little as £12.50.

Villa fans have vented their fury at the club following the confirmation of the ticket prices.

"Disgraceful pricing," posted one supporter on X.

Another added: "A disgrace to the loyal fans who came when were absolutely not worth watching, fix up."

"Dear Aston Villa, please correct these insane prices. Yours Disgruntled," posted a third.

While a third wrote: "Absolutely disgusting."

Villa next host Everton on September 14 after the international break, before travelling to face Swiss club Young Boys on September 17.
