Richard Keys leaves Arsenal fans completely confused with 'Hulk Hogan' response to Declan Rice's red card

Richard Keys leaves Arsenal fans completely confused with 'Hulk Hogan' response to Declan Rice's red card

Declan Rice was controversially sent off during Arsenal vs Brighton and Hove Albion.

Richard Keys has confused fans with his ‘Hulk Hogan response’ to Declan Rice’s red card.

Over the weekend, there was a hugely controversial moment in the match between Arsenal and Brighton and Hove Albion.

At the start of the second, midfielder Rice was shown a second yellow card, which angered Gunners fans around the country.

The 25-year-old was penalised for kicking the ball away to prevent Brighton defender Joel Veltman from taking a quick free kick.

On Monday morning, beIN Sport presenter Keys confused fans after he gave his views on Rice’s red card but replied to a Hulk Hogan video when doing so.

Keys wrote: “What don’t you understand? He was correctly booked. It’s simple. He let himself and his team down.”

Reacting to his post, one fan said: “Why are you replying to a Hulk Hogan tribute video, talking about yellow cards?”

Another tweeted: “Somehow got yellow cards got mixed up with yellow trunks and ended up here, very strange.”

A third fan added: “Wait… What is this referring to?”

Specsavers wrote: “Andy(Gray), please tell Richard to delete this.”

Speaking about the decision, Rice said after the match: “I was shocked. I think you could see in my face I was shocked. I’ve not sprinted back in front of him (Veltman) and smashed the ball away. I’ve touched the ball with the outside of my foot.

“Look, this is the law of the game. If you touch the ball away, even a little bit, obviously it’s a red card after my challenge in the first half, which I fully accept was a 50-50 that I didn’t win. But the second-half one, especially with it being in the corner flag, they (Brighton) can’t really progress anywhere from there.”

The Arsenal star added: “It was tough, it was harsh, but it’s one of those things. I have to move on from it. I will be better for it and I can only praise the players for digging deep for me and the manager (Arteta) for pushing everyone, and the fans as well, who were unbelievable again this afternoon. That’s how I see it.

“That’s my first sending-off in my career, so I just wanted to apologise to my team-mates, which I’ve done, and to the fans.”
