Arsenal could dealt a massive blow as lose two big players look set to leave the club despite news that Martin Zubimendi will be joining this summer.

On Tuesday, Arsenal pulled off the biggest transfer of the season so far after reportedly completing the surprise signing of long-term Liverpool midfield target Zubimendi.

Although the deal has reportedly been agreed in January, the Spaniard will not make the move to the Emirates until the summer once the current season ends.

However, it isn't all good news for the Gunners, as new reports have revealed that two of the club's top players could be set to leave this month, despite the imminent arrival of Zubimendi.

According to Brazilian outlet Globo, Flamengo have opened negotiations with Arsenal for Jorginho, ahead of the expiration of his current deal with Arsenal in June.

As the midfielder is entering into the final months of his contract, the Brazilian club are hoping that they can sign Jorginho without any transfer feee, and are prepared to offer him a three year contract.

If Arsenal decide that they are not prepared to release the Italian from his current contract, then he is free to sign a pre-contactual agreement with Flamengo and join them as soon as his deal expires in the summer.

However, Flamengo are reportedly not happy with this possibility, and will abandon their pursuit of Jorginho and look elsewhere if they cannot sign him this month.

The Brazilian club are hoping that Jorginho's positive relationship with Arsenal, combined with their desire to get him off of their wage book, can lead to his early release.

And Jorginho isn't the only Arsenal player who could leave in January, as Sky Sports journalist Florian Plettenberg has revealed that Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund are exploring a deal to sign Oleksandr Zinchenko this month.

Unlike his teammate, Zinchenko still has over a year left on his current deal with Arsenal, but the Gunners are still open to allowing him to move on.

The 28-year-old defender is said to be keen to leave Arsenal, and his team have already began talks with Dortmund.

And Arsenal are open to the deal, with a loan loan with an obligation to buy for approximately €20million (£16.9m) their preferred outcome.
