Martin Odegaard has spoken out after Arsenal's 1-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain, and fans are not happy.

Arsenal's hopes of making it to their first Champions League final in 19 years got off to a disastrous start on Tuesday night as they lost 1-0 to French giants Paris Saint-Germain in London.

The result leaves Mikel Arteta's side with the difficult side of turning over a one goal deficit in the second leg at the Parc des Princes next week

But Arsenal captain Odegaard is confident that previous performances this season show that they are more than capable of coming back in the second leg, but fans aren't so sure.

Odegaard has failed to impress in recent matches for Arsenal, leading to some fans going as far as to claim that he should be dropped for the most important matches this season.

Tuesday's match against PSG was no different, and the Danish international didn't shy away from admitting that he was disappointed with the game.

Speaking to beIN Sports, Odegaard said: "Everyone is a bit disappointed with the result. We wanted to win here today and we wanted to do better in certain areas, but it’s just half-time, we have another game and we have to analyse today, learn from it and make sure that we go full gas into the return leg and be convinced that we can turn it around. That’s the aim now.

"They have some great players and they play really good football, but as I said, we have to go fully convinced into the second leg.

"We have to look back at the game today, analyse it and make sure we learn from the few of the lessons we got today. It’s another game to be played and we’re going to be ready.

"Obviously the early goal changed the momentum of the game but we are going to go there and go full gas and we fully believe that we can turn it around. We have amazing quality, we have top players and we've done it in the Bernebeu so we're going to go there and really go for it."

Although it's clear that the Arsenal captain is trying to rally fans ahead of the second leg, they have not responded well to the comments, with many of them calling for him to be dropped for the game.

Reacting to Odegaard's comments, one fan wrote: "I’ve got a good idea/. How about you step up and take some onus? Diabolical performance from the skipper yet again. Barely stood up under pressure."

Another added: "I’m not listening to any of his waffle his had plenty of time to get into form, when it’s time to step up he is nowhere to be seen!"

While one claimed: "Believe with this player? Impossible worst captain."
