Thierry Henry hilariously dismissed Jamie Carragher's suggestion that Jude Bellingham would be interested in swapping Real Madrid for Liverpool.

Bellingham, who joined the La Liga giants from Borussia Dortmund this summer, has had an electric start to life in Madrid, scoring six goals in six appearances for his new club.

The 20-year-old scored a stoppage time winner to beat Union Berlin in their Group C Champions League match on Wednesday, as the Englishman continues to surpass all expectations.

It is no surprise that top clubs across Europe were queueing up to sign Bellingham this summer, but Madrid won the race in what looks to have been a great move for the midfielder already.

Liverpool were among the Premier League clubs vying for signature, but Bellingham was unable to turn his head once Los Blancos came knocking.

Former Reds defender Carragher hopefully suggested that Bellingham may be open to a move to Anfield in the future, though, before being promptly shut down by Henry.

Speaking on CBS Sports, Carragher said: "I'm sure Jude wants to try the Premier League one day, and where better than six times Champions League winners Liverpool?"

Former Arsenal striker Henry quickly butted in, responding: "He is playing for a team that has won 14!"

There is no question that Liverpool and any admirers of Bellingham will have to be patient if they are to try and sign him in the future, with the Birmingham City legend vocal in his adoration for his new club.

Speaking after his last-minute winner on Wednesday, Bellingham told reporters: ā€œIt’s even more special than I thought. I get goosebumps just talking about it now. I’m just so grateful to be at this club.

"I talk about the staff and the players but there is the fans as well who as you arrive to the stadium are there in their thousands just to get a glimpse of the bus and then they are there before the warm-up.

ā€œYou don’t really understand how big this club is until you are here.ā€

Discussing his impressive goal return, he explained: ā€œIt was just that mentality that we have shown all season that even if there are setbacks we just keep going until the end and I always believe there will be chances and it is just about being in the right position to take them.ā€
