William Saliba has set a new Arsenal record that will be difficult to beat after helping the Gunners to a win over Wolves.

Mikel Arteta's side claimed an opening weekend win for the third season on the trot, with Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka both finding the net in a 2-0 victory.

And in the process, France international Saliba has made an impressive bit of Arsenal history.

The 23-year-old, who made his debut in the opening game against Crystal Palace in 2022, has now been involved in 50 Premier League wins.

As highlighted by the club's official website, Saliba has done it in just 66 games, quicker than any other Arsenal player in the top flight.

Tasting defeat just eight times and keeping 30 clean sheets, he is comfortably ahead of former players like Nacho Monreal (70), Kolo Toure (72) and Edu and Sol Campbell (73).

Current boss Arteta is down in 12th in the Arsenal list, having got to half a century of victories in 77 games as a player.

However, Saliba's impressive tally is not quite enough to be a Premier League record.

In fact there are 13 players in history ahead of him, including two of his current teammates in Oleksandr Zinchenko and Gabriel Jesus thanks to their exploits with Manchester City.

The champions dominate the Opta statistic, with Phil Foden and Aymeric Laporte tied for the top spot with an incredible 50 wins in their first 59 Premier League appearances.

Didier Drogba is third, with Arjen Robben and Jesus completing the top five.

Here is the top 10 in full:

Phil Foden - 59

Aymeric Laporte - 59

Didier Drogba - 60

Arjen Robben - 61

Gabriel Jesus - 62

Bernardo Silva - 62

Ederson - 62

Alisson - 62

Oleksandr Zinchenko - 63

Petr Cech - 62
