Arsenal fans are demanding that the club signs one player this summer to bounce back from their Champions League quarter-final elimination by Bayern Munich.

The Gunners went into the clash at the Allianz Arena with the scores level at 2-2 from the first leg.

But they struggled to impose themselves on proceedings in the second leg, and Joshua Kimmich opened the scoring for Bayern from close range in the second half.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta sent on Gabriel Jesus and Leandro Trossard in an attempt to get the Gunners back into the contest.

But the closest they came to scoring late on was a Martin Odegaard shot that was pushed wide by Manuel Neuer - and incorrectly resulting in a goal kick.

It was a disappointing end to the European campaign for Arteta's side, who lamented a lack of cutting edge or impetus in the final third.

After the defeat, Gunners fans have called for their side to sign one player as an absolute priority this summer - AC Milan star Rafael Leao.

One wrote: "Arsenal. Rafael Leao. That's the jigsaw piece."

A second agreed: "I need Rafael Leao. I need that killer, pay the money Arsenal."

And a third said: "Arsenal needs a superstar. Rafael Leao, that's the player we should sign!!!!"

A fourth agreed, but argued for other players to join alongside Leao: "We need decisiveness up top. Leao alone doesn't solve that, we need him and more."

The Portugal international, whose preferred role is on the left of the attack, has scored seven goals and provided eight assists in Serie A for Milan this season.

In the two seasons prior, though, he netted 15 and 11 goals respectively, while he also has four goals to his name in European competition this season.

The major issue for Arsenal, though, will be the asking price.

According to Football Italia, Milan are demanding that any interested clubs pay Leao's full release clause to allow him to leave - with the clause standing at a staggering €175 million.
