Arsenal fans think a star is 'never' getting back in the team after one player's stunning performance against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League.

Arsenal beat PSG 2-0 at the Emirates on Tuesday to secure their first win of this season's Champions League campaign.

Kai Havertz headed home in the 20th minute before Bukayo Saka doubled his side's lead with a free-kick.

Arsenal's backline was in characteristically great form as Gabriel and William Saliba helped their team claim a clean sheet.

Jurrien Timber also delivered a stellar shift before being taken off at the break.

But in the first 45 minutes, Timber shone at the back, with his performance getting fans online talking.

Arsenal supporters think Ben White is 'never' getting back in the starting XI following the Dutchman's recent outings at right-back.

One X user wrote: "Timber has settled in so comfortably at RB Ben White might never get his chain back."

A second tweeted: "Jurrien Timber is a serious threat to Ben White..."

A third added: "It’s never been a debate bruv, a fit Timber is a guaranteed starter for us."

A fourth said: "I trust Jurrien Timber more in 1 v 1 situation than White and if we were in a Champions League final i wld start him."

Another commented: "Jurrien Timber Is insane man, on a bright side Ben white gets to rotate at CB for Saliba."

Timber was forced off at the interval after he felt a slight muscular issue.

On the defender's showing against PSG and his injury, Mikel Arteta said: "He was unbelievable in the first half but he felt something muscular. and he was uncertain and I didn’t want to take any risks. He’s been out for a year, he’s played a lot of minutes, probably more minutes than we wanted in the last few weeks, and we have to manage him."

Arteta also praised summer signing Riccardo Calafiori.

"He has the capacity to occupy different spaces, he’s really comfortable with that, he’s already done that in Italy and that’s why we signed him," he added. "First of all, he’s a great defender, he has this presence and energy and full commitment in the reaction that he does and he’s really brave. He doesn’t care in those situations, he wants the ball, he wants to make things happen with it and is happy to play in different roles."
