A letter from Islington Council containing the details of Arsenal's scrapped Premier League trophy parade plans has emerged, featuring a timetable and potential route.

Going into the final day, reigning champions Manchester City sat top of the Premier League ladder, two points ahead of second-placed Arsenal.

Mikel Arteta's side needed a minor miracle at the Etihad as City came up against West Ham and at one stage, the Gunners had hope after Mohammed Kudus clawed one back.

But the Citizens became the first men’s team in the history of English football to win four consecutive top-flight titles after goals from Phil Foden [2] and Rodri secured a 3-1 victory

As we reported last week, leaked footage emerged showing Arsenal and Premier League staff rehearsing the Premier League trophy presentation on the Emirates pitch.

And on Tuesday, Islington Council sent a lengthy letter to business owners to inform them of a "potential" open-top bus parade on Monday 20 May 2024 at 5pm.

"The aim of this letter is to set out what may potentially happen if the parade goes ahead, therefore as a local business you can make any necessary plans," it reads.

"This may be an excellent opportunity for you to maximise the opportunity of additional footfall or conversely for your business you may choose to close early to join in the parade, or head out of the area before crowds draw in.

"In the event that Arsenal Football Club are successful in winning the Premier League, a celebratory bus parade is planned. The parade would start and finish at Emirates Stadium, going via the Town Hall on Upper Street, Islington."

As well as the above, a timetable and route was provided along with information regarding safety and facilities.

Here is the timetable and route that was previously followed by their 2003/04 squad, when they won the Premier League title.

5pm: The parade would start from Emirates Stadium at Drayton Park, travelling along Drayton Park, Aubert Park, Highbury Grove, St Paul's Road, Upper Street and back to the stadium.

7pm: The parade would arrive back at Emirates Stadium, for a short appearance by the players on the podium above The Armoury store on Hornsey Road.

8pm: The celebration event ends.
